The 6 Best Cocktail Bars in London

The 6 Best Cocktail Bars in London

There’s nothing better than going out with your friends for a night of cocktails and catching up.

We love a cheeky drink (or three), but when there’s a new cocktail spot popping up at what feels like every weekend, it can be hard to decide which one to visit next. Not to worry, as the team at DL has picked our top six cocktails bars around London to save you the trouble. From high-end hang-outs to exclusive, secret venues, this list has something for everyone. All you have to do now is decide whether you want a martini or a margarita.

Three Sheets - Dalston

This award-winning cocktail bar is worth adding to the list if you want to indulge in your favourite drinks, but in a relaxed environment. Run by the Venning brothers - who are both renowned in the cocktail world - this menu of fabulous cocktails changes with the seasons, so you’ll be in for a surprise every time you visit.

What we’d order:

My Lady Garden. Get it while you can!

Address:

510b Kingsland Road, E8 4AE

Martinez - Soho

At the Martinez in Soho, get ready for a whole new take on what you consider a ‘classic’ cocktail. Their menu has been carefully curated to bring back the cocktail world's long-forgotten classics, so you can take a step into the past by enjoying a selection of delicious drinks. The bar staff will still create your favourites on request, but in a  bar like this, why not go a little wild?

What we’d order:

The Martinez. The bar’s namesake is considered the origin of the modern Martini.

Address:

Martinez, First Floor, 49 Greek Street, London, W1D 4EG

The Painter’s Room - Mayfair

Hidden away within Claridge’s hotel in Mayfair, this rose-hued bar is definitely what we call an ‘Instagrammable moment’. The Painter’s Room is an art deco hideaway, inspired by the artistic places of Provence and Italy and each cocktail is local to the bar’s roots. So, expect drinks with ingredients sourced from British, French and Italian producers.

What we’d order:

Honey & Camomile. If we are in a rose-coloured bar, we might as well stick to the floral theme.

Address:

Claridge's, Brook Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 4HR

Artesian - Oxford Circus

Voted Number 19 on Top 50 Cocktails Bars in the UK, Artesian knows how to create the perfect cocktail. Their current cocktail menu, ‘Collections’, was created by head bartender, Giulia Cuccurullo, and focuses on everything that has brought us together over 2020. Hence the Banana Bread 1933 cocktail. Each section of the menu has its own identity and story that make Artesian a cocktail bar unlike any other.

What we’d order:

Banana Bread 1933. (We still love it!)

Address:

1C Portland Place, London, W1B 1JA, United Kingdom

The Cinnamon Club - Westminster

Any London foodie knows The Cinnamon Club as THE place to go for Indian Cuisine and fine dining. Well, now you can head below this renowned restaurant to their recently opened cocktail bar, decked out in 1960s glam. Inspired by both Indian and British flavours, their cocktail menu gives traditional drinks a unique twist, and we are HERE for it. With an award-winning Indian restaurant just above, the bar food isn’t too bad either.

What we’d order:

Sherbert Spritz. Campari, hibiscus & pomegranate soda and brut champagne? Sounds fabulous.

Address:

The Cinnamon Club, The Old Westminster Library, 30-32 Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3BU

Website:

The Bloomsbury Club - Bloomsbury

If you like a side of music with your cocktails, then this is the place for you. Enjoy live jazz as you sip on a selection of cocktails inspired by tarot cards designed in 1910 by bohemian occultist Pamela 'Pixie' Colman Smith. Each cocktail matches with 14 states of mind. With every drink being a conversation starter, The Bloomsbury Club is the perfect date venue.

What we’d order:

Who are we to tell you how you’re feeling? For this one, it’s down to you.

Address:

16-22 Great Russell St, London WC1B 3NN
