Ultimate Guide To NYE Parties: Worldwide

Rio de Janeiro

Imagine spending NYE in Rio - we think it might actually be the sexiest place on earth! If you’re looking for some hip swiveling, samba shimmying, smokin’ hot moves then you should be heading to  Reveillon. Held for the last 10 years this super party (one of the biggest and wildest celebrations in the world) has already become a tradition in the city and 2017 looks set to be no different with 3,000 people expected. Food, samba lessons, live music, swimming in lagoons, Copacabana and all under the famous Christ the Redeemer statue. Is that not incredible? Just one hint: leave your #allblackeverything outfit at home, Brazilians believe it to be a bad omen - so rock out the rainbow colours!!!!

New Years Eve fireworks at Disney Florida

Orlando, Florida

Want to be treated like the princess you know you are? Then spending NYE at Orlando Florida could totally be your bag! The biggest illumination light show, you’ve probably ever seen and a host of fairytale parades. This place makes you feel like a kid again… except you can drink cocktails now :P

New Years Eve fireworks over River Thames London
London at NYE

London

We couldn’t do a list of the best NYE parties without spreading some love on our home turf! In London, there is an abundance of parties, far and wide from classy roof terrace soiree’s to underground parties that will leave your head thumping…

If you’re hitting the main streets The towering London Eye is always a pretty amazing sight. Try and snag a spot by the river around Westminster, London, and Blackfriars bridge or sit back and relax (with a little more space) and gaze up at the big screens. The fireworks display will blow your mind!

For something a bit different, try the Blitz party - a quirky 1940s  themed party. You will get to step back in time into an authentic air-raid shelter. Expect pin curled ladies and uniformed soldiers bringing you a night of live music, classic cocktails, and 40s-style revelry.

New Years eve fireworks at Sydney harbour
Sydney at NYE

Sydney

If you want to be the first to see in the new year then Sydney is where you want to hang out! Home to the world's second-largest New Year's celebration it also boasts the world's largest fireworks display.

The Aussies don’t mess around when it comes to a party and we are talking some serious pyrotechnics here. 6 barges, 3 1/2-mile expanse of water and 30,000 pyrotechnic effects, for nearly 15 minutes full on !!!!

Sydney gets super busy and attracts up to a million party-goers but the vibes will be immense - the perfect place to get a cheeky snog at midnight looking over the super romantic Sydney Harbour bridge.

If you’re heading to Sydney for NYE then don't forget to check out the illuminated boats gliding along the waterfront for the late-night Harbour of Light Parade.

New Years Eve fireworks at times square New York

New York

If you’re looking for one of those classy dreamy escapes at New Years then without a doubt you need to head to New York. Time’s squares ‘Hullabaloo’ celebration started out in 1904 and has been going strong ever since!

Every year the city sees hundreds of thousands of party revelers don their cutest outfits and dance their socks off. Don’t get caught out on an empty stomach… Food and drink vendors are not permitted in Times Square so pack a picnic. Think champagne and strawberries … maybe a few doughnuts. Restaurants will be open in the area but will be super packed and booked up months in advance. Anyway, it's much better going DIY on NYE.

New Years Eve fireworks, Edinburgh Scotland
Edinburgh Hogmany

Edinburgh, Scotland

If you’re one of our Scottish Leopards or you just fancy a genuine wee scotch to draw in the new year, the city of Edinburgh will be absolutely buzzing. Already a stunning city all year round, watching it light up under a shower of fireworks as you drink an Iron Bru cocktail takes this city to another level! Thousands of reveling, scots and tourists alike pack into the city and the vibe is a warm and welcoming one (though you will need to wrap up warm).  Don’t forget, in Edinburgh for you are actually celebrating Hogmanay (meaning "last day of the year") celebration.

There is always a big live act at Hogmanay and homegrown Scottish lad Paolo Nutini will be the big headliner this year so I hope you’ve got your tickets!

Most tourists will head to Princess street but if you’re in the know that we totally recommend getting to Carlton Hill just before midnight to get the best view of the fireworks.
